For our department Nachhaltigkeit und Corporate Governance we are seeking a

(Senior) Manager (d/w/m)

Environmental and social risk management in the non – financial sector
 „Corporates und Projektfinanzierungen“ as well as for financial intermediaries

Your new area of responsibility

  • Environmental and social assessment of opportunities and risks in the financing of companies, project financing, banks and private sector funds in emerging and developing countries
  • Identification, structuring and negotiation of actions plans to mitigate identified risks
  • Monitoring the portfolio of existing projects, including the implementation of agreed action plans in the environmental and social areas
  • Identify, initiate and support additional advisory measures to increase environmental and social performance, transform our clients and improve the developmental impact of our engagements
  • Costumer visit for assessment and monitoring in the investment countries will be planned
  • Working on fundamental issues and contributing to the implementation of DEG strategy „Impact.Climate.Returns”


Your profile

  • Engineering, social or environmental science studies with an international focus
  • Several years of experience in similar activities, including environmental and social management in the financial sector, companies or NGOs
  • Good knowledge of environmental, social and development policy principles; broad experience in implementing international environmental and social standards (especially IFC Performance Standards) and human rights requirements
  • Experience abroad, preferably in developing countries
  • Very good English skills as well as good knowledge of Spanish and / or French
  • Customer orientation, communication and teamwork skills, negotiating skills, risk awareness
